Briarcliff Manor’s crisp autumn air signals it’s time to test your fireplace—but only if your chimney’s been swept and inspected. Myth: ‘My Chimney Looks Fine—It Doesn’t Need a Sweep This Year’
Briarcliff Manor’s dry autumn winds don’t just carry leaves—they push creosote deeper into your flue. What most homeowners miss? Even one unused winter can turn a ‘clean’ chimney into a tinderbox. Last year, we pulled a chimney sweep in a Briarcliff Manor home where the owner swore they’d ‘only used the fireplace a few times’—until we found Stage 2 creosote (glazed, tar-like buildup) that required a full relining. Pro tip: If you’ve had your chimney inspected in the past but haven’t swept it since, schedule a chimney sweep near me now. Our 2024 Briarcliff Manor Guide breaks down how often you actually need a sweep (hint: it’s not ‘once a year’ for everyone).
Fact: ‘This Is the Only Time of Year to Check Your Dryer Vent Too’
Here’s what Briarcliff Manor homeowners overlook: Your dryer vent is just as critical as your chimney—especially after summer humidity. Lint buildup from one wet load can trigger a house fire, yet most people ignore it until their dryer runs slower (or worse, they smell burning). Local reality: Our crews found a dryer vent cleaning job in Briarcliff Manor where a family’s dryer had been venting outside their bedroom window—thanks to a collapsed flex pipe. Action step: Pair your chimney sweep with a dryer vent inspection this fall. We offer combo services for Mount Kisco and White Plains areas too. See our full services to bundle and save.
